Recently, the Ministry of Education released  a record list of 2017 regional and national research center. The Latin  American Research Center of our school has been included on the list, which  is another important achievement for School of Business.

Besides, the Center for International  Organization for Migration, the Indonesian Research Center, the African  Research Institute and the European Research Center were also on the list.  Among  all colleges and universities of Guangdong province, Guangdong University of  Foreign Studies ranked first in establishing research projects.

Since 2012, the Ministry of Education has kicked  off the first round of selection and cultivation of regional and national  research center and research base for international education in some  colleges and universities and research institutions. It aims to strengthen  China's regional and national studies and to create a high-end think tank so as  to provide intellectual support, decision-making advice, theoretical  discussion and practical analysis for China’s foreign development strategies and  policy measures.

Regional and national research is one of the  key points of strengthening innovation of scientific research and social  service capability during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Since last year,  GDUFS has innovated our ways in building our school bases and school teams  and optimizing the allocation of resources in accordance with national strategies  and Belt and Road initiative. GDUFS also set up a number of relevant regional  and national research team and research base through innovation and reform of  organizations of scientific research in order to further explore the  overlapping and integration of language and other disciplines.
