On the morning of September 15th,the Secretariat of the Expert Committee of Guangdong Cross-border E-commerceAssociation was launched at the MBA103 Room of No.9 Teaching Building on Northcampus. Vice President of GDUFS Jiao Fangtai, Dean of BS Zhu Wenzhong, CPCSecretary of BS Li Hua, Vice Dean Qiu Weinian, CPCDeputy Secretary Luo Haiyang and teacher representatives of BS as well as theExecutive Director of the Secretariat Cui Min, Deputy Secretary Chen Xia,Deputy Director of the Personnel Exchange and Training Department Wu Foqing attendedthe launching ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Zhu Wenzhong.
Jiao Fangtai first extended the welcome towardsthe delegation led by Executive Director Cui Min. To choose GDUFS as thelocation of the Secretariat showed the association’s recognition and support forthe School of Business. Jiao Fangtai expressed gratitude towards ExecutiveDirector Cui Min and the Association leaders.
In Jiao Fangtai’s speech, he mentioned that pushed by computernetwork technology and economic globalization, cross-border e-commerce hadincreasingly shown its broad prospects for development. The cross-bordere-commerce was developing rapidly in Guangdong, China's first major foreigntrade province. Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association emerged as thetimes require, which indicated the timely response to the trend and foresightof the Association leaders, experts, enterprises and organizations. JiaoFangtai pointed out that Guangwai would be a strong backup for the Secretariatsince Guangwai had laid asolid research base in the field of cross-border e-commerce. Guangwai was alsoone of the universities in Southern China to set foot on the research on theemerging cross-border e-commerce industry with a good foundation of talenttraining. For instance, Guangwai had established the “GDUFS - Transan Cross-border E-commerceTraining Program" and "E-commerce Maker Center" etc. At the sametime, Guangwai had majors both in western languages such as English and easternlanguages such as Japanese. The Secretariat could rely on the Guangwai's advantages oflanguage talent cultivation and reserve foreign language talents for marketexpansion for cross-border e-commerce. The establishment of the Secretariatwould also greatly contribute to the close cooperation between two parties tojointly promote cross-border e-commerce talent training and the prosperity anddevelopment of the industry.
Jiao Fangtai pointed out that GDUFS would stronglysupport and create a favorable condition for the Secretariat, taking the launchingof the Secretariat as a good chance to better our research, talent cultivationand social services on the cross-border e-commerce and striving forestablishing a high level business school of international characteristics.
On behalf of the Guangdong Cross-borderE-commerce Association, Cui Min made a speech in which she pointed out that thereason why they launched the Secretariat in Guangwai was because the qualification,conditions and advantages of Guangwai. This was a great opportunity for bothsides to cooperate with good faith and join hands to make progress. She hopedthat the Secretariat would play an important role, especially in the academicresearch, personnel training and talent cultivation on cross-border e-commerce.She also expressed her hope for Guangwai to highlight its characteristics onthe research and talent cultivation concerning cross-border e-commerce acrossthe nation. She mentioned the Association was based in Guangdong with the aimto influence the whole world and the slogan to force ways into the globalmarket and the purpose of serving its member enterprises to play an actively asthe bridge and link of the industry. The association would make efforts tobecome the most professional cross-border e-commerce platform that isenergetic, influential, trusted by the government and popular among its memberswith good service abilities.
Jiao Fangtai, Cui Min, Chen Xia, ZhuWenzhong, Li Hua and Qiu Weinian inaugurated the Guangdong Cross-borderE-commerce Association in the warm applause.

After the launching ceremony, Director of theLogistics Department Ma Feixiong and Prof. Zhang Liangwei, teacher Fu Qiufang and other teachers of thedepartment exchanged ideas with the association representatives. Both sidesdiscussed about the talent cultivation, discipline construction and cooperationbetween teaching and research concerning cross-border e-commerce. Finally,cooperation intention was achieved.
