On May 18, 2024, the Forum on High-Quality Development of Economics and Management Discipline was held at the Baiyun Mountain Campus of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). President YAN Xiangbin attended the forum in its entirety and delivered a speech. The forum brought together nine leading experts in economics and management, including JIN Qinglu, Dean of the School of Accounting at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, LIi Shanmin, former Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University and Director of the Department of Economics and Management, LI Yijun, former Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Institute of Technology, SONG Xianzhong, former President of Jinan University, WANG Fan, Deputy Chairperson of Sun Yat-sen University, WANG Huiwen, former Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Beihang University, WEI Minghai, Chairperson and President of Guangzhou University, XU Nianxing, Director of the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Business School, Renmin University of China, and YI Xingjian, Vice President of Guangdong University of Finance. More than 100 participants attended the forum, including heads of the Development and Planning Division, leaders of relevant economics and management departments, and key academic faculty. The forum was practical, efficient, and highly productive. The advice of these leading experts greatly broadened GDUFS’s perspectives and strategies for advancing discipline development, providing clear guidance for the future growth of the economics and management programs.
