To promote college students’ understanding and inheritance of Cantonese merchants spirit, deepen students’ systematic understanding of the business culture in the Greater Bay Area, and enhance their sense of pride and mission in inheriting the business culture in the new era, School of Business (SoB) of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), in collaboration with universities in Hong Kong and Macao, jointly launched the Training Camp of Experiencing the Cantonese Merchants Spirit and Conducting Innovative Practice for Youth (hereinafter referred to as the Cantonese Merchants Spirit Training Camp) and the New Look of Old Ports: Training Camp of Inheriting the Greater Bay Area Business Culture (hereinafter referred to as the New Look of Old Ports Training Camp) from July 2 to 7, 2024. Through online theme lectures, offline field visits and enterprise research, the projects have attracted about 50 students from the colleges and universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
With the successful conclusion of the graduation ceremony, SoB has now hosted five sessions of “Cantonese Merchants Spirit” Training Camp and three sessions of “New Look of Old Ports” Training Camp. Through specialized lectures, field visits, and group discussions and assessments, these programs have provided students from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao with an in-depth platform to understand and experience the Cantonese Merchants Spirit and the trading culture of the Greater Bay Area. SoB remains committed to cultivating business talents with global vision and professional competence, advancing steadily toward the goal of a top-tier, internationally recognized business school with distinctive features, and contributing knowledge and strength to the economic development of the Greater Bay Area and the rest of the world.
