To enhance the understanding and promotion of Cantonese commercial culture among university students from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, foster academic exchanges among teachers and students across the three regions, and strengthen students’ capacity for innovation and practice, School of Business (SoB) held a training camp for students from Hong Kong and Macao to experience Cantonese commercial culture and to conduct innovative practice from July 11 to 17, 2022. In addition to lectures by renowned professors, the camp also featured five entrepreneurs from high-tech, new media, and manufacturing industries. Their talks received positive feedback from the participants. The event attracted nearly 200 applicants, with about 80 ultimately admitted to ensure the quality of teaching.
Nine professors and five business representatives took part in the camp. In line with national pandemic prevention measures, lectures were conducted via Tencent Meeting and group live streaming. Despite the lack of face-to-face interaction, students remained highly enthusiastic. During the sessions, experts and professors drew on a wide range of knowledge to share academic insights and real-world business experience. Students listened attentively and engaged actively with the instructors, creating a lively classroom atmosphere.
Building on the success of the first two sessions, this year’s training camp introduced new elements, underscoring SoB’s commitment to promoting exchanges among universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The program also provided Hong Kong and Macao students with opportunities to experience the charm of traditional culture, gain a proper understanding of modern development achievements, and integrate into the nation’s progress.
