Dec 13, 2021

On December 21, 2021, Professor SHEN Wei, Vice Chancellor of Deakin University and Yunshan Chair Professor, visited SoB to guide the EPAS re-accreditation work. Associate Dean DING Hao of SoB, GDUFS, and International Accreditation Supervisor LIU Tianjiao participated in the meeting. On behalf of SoB, Professor DING Hao warmly welcomed Vice Chancellor Shen’s visit and reported on the progress SoB has made since obtaining EPAS accreditation in 2019. Leveraging the national first-class undergraduate programs and the EPAS international accreditation, SoB launched a new Business Management Innovation Class for the Business Administration program in 2020, and revised and updated the curriculum outlines and training plans. In the context of the pandemic, SoB has been committed to exploring new paths for university-enterprise collaboration and international exchange. EPAS re-accreditation has been designated as a key focus for SoB in the coming year.

Professor Shen recognized the achievements SoB has made in recent years and offered valuable suggestions for the EPAS re-accreditation. First, he advised giving full attention to the feedback from the previous accreditation review experts and making concrete improvements before the re-accreditation. Second, he recommended enhancing SoB’s level of internationalization by establishing an International Advisory Board, organizing virtual student exchange programs in cooperation with overseas universities, posting recruitment notices for foreign faculty on SoB’s website, and appropriately screening international partners. Third, he suggested promoting the Learning Assurance system among all faculty to help them understand its importance and significance. Professor Shen noted that SoB’s SMILE values are highly aligned with the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), and he encouraged SoB to join the PRME initiative to better advance responsible management education and achieve sustainable development.
