“Ten-thousand Talents Plan”—SoB Successfully Completes the Projects of “Cantonese Merchants Spirit” and “New Look of Old Ports”

Jul 7, 2023

To enhance the understanding and inheritance of the Cantonese Merchants Spirit among students from universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, deepen students’ systematic understanding of the Greater Bay Area's commercial culture, and strengthen their sense of pride and mission in inheriting the commercial culture in the new era, from June 25 to July 1, 2023, SoB, GDUFS, and universities in Hong Kong and Macao co-hosted the “Practical Training Camp on Transmission of Cantonese Business Spirit and Enhancement of Innovative Capabilities for Youth in the Bay Area” (hereinafter referred to as the “Cantonese Business Spirit” Practical Training Camp) and the “The Ancient Port in New Charm: The Practical Workshop on the Inheritance of Commercial Culture of the Greater Bay Area in the New Era” (hereinafter referred to as the “Ancient Port in New Charm” Seminar). This project adopted a format combining online lectures and on-site field visits and enterprise research, attracting about 60 participants from various universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This event was the fifth “Ten-thousand Talents Plan” project successfully held by SoB and the first conducted in a blended online and offline mode. Through thematic teaching, field visits, group discussion assessments, and other forms, students from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao experienced the vibrant business culture of the Greater Bay Area. This initiative fostered a deeper sense of belonging and pride in the region's integrated development while strengthening friendships among students from the three regions. Moving forward, we will further enhance collaborative partnerships with universities in Hong Kong and Macao, actively integrate into the development of the “Greater Bay Area Campus,” and accelerate its transformation into a “high-level SoB with distinctive international characteristics.”
