On April 1, 2023, to discuss issues arising from the great changes in the field of new retail operations management and promote the development of information technology-driven new retail operations management theories and methods, the “New Retail Model Innovation and Operations Management” Seminar & “Journal of Systems Management” Academic Workshop, hosted by the Editorial Department of the Journal of Systems Management and the Service Science and Operations Management Branch of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, and undertaken by School of Business (SoB), was successfully held at the International Academic Exchange Center of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). In addition to expert report sessions, the seminar featured two afternoon sessions dedicated to the review and discussion of recommended papers, providing participating scholars with opportunities to present their research directions and findings. This conference played an important role in enhancing GDUFS’s academic level in the fields of Business Administration and Management Science & Engineering, promoting the development of management-related disciplines, and enhancing the influence of GDUFS and SoB.
