On the afternoon of November 8, 2018, SoB held the Kick-off and First-Round Deployment Meeting for the EPAS Accreditation Self-Assessment Report in Room 402 of the MBA Education Center at the Baiyun Mountain Campus. Attendees included Dean ZHU Wenzhong, Associate Deans LIANG Jie and DING Hao, members of the EPAS accreditation team (LI Yongning, HUANG Lei, SHEN Zhonghua, GUAN Pianpian), and staff from School Office, Academic Affairs Office, and Accreditation Office. The meeting was presided over by Associate Dean DING Hao.
Dean ZHU Wenzhong first expressed gratitude to the colleagues participating in the EPAS accreditation effort, encouraging everyone to keep up the good work and strive for SoB to pass EPAS accreditation as soon as possible. Regarding the writing of the EPAS report, Dean Zhu offered three suggestions: (1) be goal-oriented, explaining curriculum design, teaching models, teaching methods, and assessment methods in terms of the talent cultivation objectives; (2) maintain a broad perspective, emphasizing the support of GDUFS and the Business and Management Division for SoB; and (3) integrate existing accreditation and teaching evaluation materials to improve efficiency.
Associate Dean DING Hao then reviewed the EPAS accreditation work, focusing on recent progress. Ding noted that SoB started the EPAS accreditation process in June 2016 and obtained membership status. After multiple rounds of Data Sheet revisions, we officially submitted to the EPAS Accreditation Board in August 2018 and successfully obtained accreditation eligibility in October 2018, officially entering the self-assessment report writing phase. According to communications with EFMD, we plan to submit the self-assessment report in early 2019 and welcome the on-site visit of the accreditation experts.
Next, Accreditation Office Supervisor LIANG Yan gave a detailed interpretation of the EPAS self-assessment report standards. On the basis of fully understanding the rules, a brainstorming discussion was held, through which the writing framework and approach for each chapter were determined. The necessary supporting materials for the report content were identified, and specific divisions of responsibilities were assigned to the writing team and administrative staff.
