SoB, together with the Economics and Management Division, offers a first-level discipline doctoral program in Applied Economics. It has two first-level discipline master’s programs (Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering), three second-level discipline master’s programs (Corporate Management, Technology Economy and Management, Tourism Management), and a professional master’s program (MBA).
I. Program Specializations
(I) Business Administration Master’s Program
1. Corporate Management
Five specializations: International Business Management, Marketing Management, Brand and Consumer Behavior Research, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
2. Technology Economy and Management
Three specializations: Strategic Management and Organization Design, Project Evaluation and Decision Making, Knowledge Management and Technological Innovation.
(II) Management Science and Engineering Master’s Program
The program offers five research tracks: Supply Chain and Operations Management, Project and Quality Management, Business Decision-Making and Optimization, E-commerce and Service Innovation, and Big Data Analytics and Intelligent Management. (The Management Science and Engineering discipline obtained the authority to confer master’s degrees in first-level disciplines in 2010. The degree program is supported by School of Business and School of Information Science and Technology, leveraging the Advantageous Key Discipline of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong High-Level University Construction Project.)
II. Application Qualifications
(I) Applicants for the National Master’s Degree Entrance Examination must meet the following conditions:
1. Citizens of the People’s Republic of China.
2. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, possess good moral character, and abide by laws and regulations.
3. Meet the physical health standards required by the state and the admitting institution.
4. Academic level must meet one of the following:
(1) Fresh undergraduate graduates recognized by the state (including from regular universities, adult higher educational institutions, and adult higher education institutions affiliated with regular higher educational institutions), as well as self-study examination and online education candidates who can graduate before enrollment, must obtain a state-recognized undergraduate diploma or the “Foreign Degree Certification” from the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange by September 1 of the enrollment year, otherwise the admission will be invalid.
(2) Hold a state-recognized undergraduate diploma.
(3) Have held a state-recognized college diploma for 2 years (from graduation to September 1 of the enrollment year) or more, and have passed more than 5 main specialized courses through self-study examinations; OR hold a state-recognized undergraduate completion certificate, meeting the specific academic requirements set by the admitting institution based on its training objectives. Such applicants may apply with equivalent academic ability as undergraduate graduates.
(4) Hold a master’s or doctoral degree.
Current postgraduate students must obtain consent from their current institution before applying.
(II) Recommendation-for-Exemption Students
Candidates eligible for recommendation for exemption from entrance examinations must log in to the “National Recommended Exemption from Examination for Graduate Students Information Disclosure and Management Service System” (website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn/tm) within the timeframe specified by the state to submit their applications and participate in the re-examination. Students recommended for admission who have not secured an accepting institution by the specified deadline will lose their recommended admission status. Students recommended for admission who have been accepted by an institution may not register for the postgraduate entrance examination in the same year; otherwise, their recommended admission status will be revoked.
