The Inaugural Research Meeting on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility- A collaboration between Massey University and GDUFS was held in MBA Center of School of Business, GDUFS (North Campus) on April 12th and 13th. On the morning of April 12th, over 60 teachers and students from Massey University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), attended the Inaugural Research Meeting. Head of the School Stephen Kelly and the delegation from School of Management of Massey University, Vice President of GDUFS Jiao Fangtai, Director of Academic Research Division Chen Yanhui, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Wu Junfeng and Dean of School of Business Zhu Wenzhong attended this event.
Jiao Fangtai and Stephen Kelly made opening remarks at the meeting. Jiao Fangtai extended warm welcome to the delegation of Massey University, and said that he was honored to have the research on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility between the two universities. He said this event was meaningful and had high expectations of the future development of related researches. Stephen Kelly made his remarks afterwards, in which he said that he was grateful for the invitation from GDUFS and looked forward to the cooperation and researches in the future. Then guests, teachers and students present at the meeting witnessed the unveiling ceremony of the Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Research Hub - A Collaboration between Massey University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and took a group photo.

After taking the group photo, the meeting went on to the session of academic exchanges. Dean of School of Business, GDUFS, Zhu Wenzhong, Professor Dirk Boehe from School of Management, Massey University, and Associate Professor Huang Lei from School of Business, GDUFS, gave speeches on Research on Corporate Social Responsibility Based on Data Mining and other topics. Academicians present at the meeting had a warm discussion about the meeting topic from perspectives like enterprise scale, mode of enterprise operation and enterprise innovation. Then Head of School of Management, Massey University, Stephen Kelly, Lecturer from School of Business, GDUFS, Ma Qiuzhuo, Senior Lecturer from School of Management, Massey University, Kang Yuanfei, and Lecturer from School of Business, GDUFS, Liu Shumin gave speeches on topics like Low-carbon airline network optimization: a preface on fleet assignment problem. Academicians present at the meeting made further discussions about the scientific and technological level in today’s society, actual practices and other problems.

On the afternoon of April 12th, Ph.D and Master’s candidates from the two universities made academic exchanges in which discussions were freer and warmer. Ph.D candidate from School of English for International Business, GDUFS, Pan Jiejing, Ph.D candidate from School of Management, Massey University, Kazunori Kibayashi, Ph.D candidate from School of English for International Business, GDUFS, Wan Muchun, Master’s candidate from School of English for International Business, GDUFS, Zhang Mengqi, Ph.D candidate from School of Management, Massey University, Lili Mi, and Master’s candidate from School of English for International Business, GDUFS, Sun Xinqi made academic discussions around the topic of “sustainable development and corporation social responsibility” from different starting points.
On the morning of April 13th, guests from Massey University, Zhu Wenzhong, Deputy Dean of School of Business, GDUFS, Yuan Denghua, Deputy Dean of School of Business, GDUFS, Liang Jie, and teachers from School of Business, GDUFS, Liu Shumin, Lai Lei and Li Chunyu held a workshop and made a conclusion to the exchange meeting in MBA Center on the north campus. At the workshop, Zhu Wenzhong introduced the discipline system and international exchanges of School of Business, Center for Latin America Studies and other scientific researches. On behalf of School of Business, GDUFS, Lecturer Liu Shumin made a report about joint declaration of national projects, co-organization of international academic meetings and other things around research proposals regarding collaborative research. Then on behalf of School of Management, Massey University, Associate Professor Gabriel Eweje from School of Management gave a speech on research proposals regarding collaborative research and highlighted the potential research projects in the cooperation. Li Chunyu from School of Business, GDUFS, introduced ERASMUS+ LMPT Sustainable Tourism Project. At last, both sides discussed recommendation for postgraduates to pursue ph.D degree in Massey University, joint supervision of ph.D candidates and selection of cooperative projects between GDUFS and Massey University, and initially determined related issues.

The Inaugural Research Meeting on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility - A collaboration between Massey University and GDUFS was co-hosted by GDUFS and Massey University, and was organized by School of Business, GDUFS, and the Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Research Hub - A Collaboration between Massey University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. This event would facilitate further cooperation between the two universities and the development of the Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Research Hub - A Collaboration between Massey University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
