In the afternoon of November 3rd , 2015, Vice President of University of California at Riverside (UCR) Jeffry M.Kaatz, Dean of the UCLA John E. Anderson College Wang Yunzeng and Steve Chen, Director for Foreign Affairs from UCLA John E. Anderson College visited MBA Center. Wang Yunzeng gave a lecture entitled "Bundled Procurement for Technology Acquisition and Future Competition" to our MBA students, undergraduate students from Innovation Class and students from School of English for International Business (SEIB) and School of Accounting at the Silk-Tex Lecture Hall. The lecture was presided by Jiang Yong, Vice Dean of SEIB. After the lecture, Dean Wang Yunzeng and Director Steve Chen had a cordial conversation with 14 and 15 grade undergraduate students from Innovation Class and introduced to them the cooperation project between our school and the UCLA John E. Anderson College, namely the 3+1+1 program of joint undergraduate-postgraduate. They also answered questions on how to choose universities, majors and make preparations for studying abroad raised by students from Innovation Class. The three guests all spoke highly of the language ability and comprehensive quality of the students form the Innovation Class. After the lecture, three guests held a discussion with Zhu Wenzhong, Executive Dean of GSB, Vice Dean Yuan Denghua, Liang Jie, Director of MBA Center Wang Gang, Director of the Business Administration Department Ding Hao and Foreign Affairs Assistant Zhou Ning at the MBA Central Meeting Room. Zhu Wenzhong, on behalf of our school, delivered a speech to welcome guests from URC and pointed out that GSB had regarded UCR as a strategic partner. He also expressed hope in carrying out cooperation on postgraduate program of 2+1, 1+1, student exchanges and short-term study tours based on 3+1+1 cooperation projects. At the same time, both sides should establish closer partnership in scientific research, teacher exchanges and enterprise resources sharing in order to build up a platform for both students to practice and visit the enterprises. The two sides agreed that in mid-March 2016, MBA Center of GSB would send 10-15 students to UCR for a short visit, and activities such as classes and enterprise visits would be arranged by UCR. |
