In the afternoon of December 8th, Vice President of GDUFS He Chuantian met with the delegation led by Vice President Lin Fengtian from Taiwan Asia University at the Administrative Building on south campus. The two sides exchanged views on university operation guidelines and management, and reached the cooperation intention of exchanging students. Qiu Weinian, Liang Jie, Vice Presidents of GSB and Liang Chaojian, Deputy Director of the Cross-Strait Exchange Office of Taiwan Asia University also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, He Chuantian pointed out that facing the competition and challenges of globalization of higher education, Guangwai had achieved accomplishments in the globalization of disciplines like language, economic and business administration. So far, Guangwai had established connection and conducted cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research with over 200 universities and institutes from 41 countries and regions. Universities from both sides of the Taiwan Straits could complement each other, which would also be beneficial to the personal growth of both students. Lin Fengtian highlighted the situation of Asia University in Taiwan. Featured in local characteristics, Asia University had set up sub disciplines in management, finance, design and medical treatment. The Art Museum of the university was a world-renowned art gallery for its exquisite design and rich collection. He Chuantian also indicated the possibility of cooperation on majors such as management, accounting, art design, social work and so on. Lin Fengtian believed that to send student for exchanges was the first cooperation between the two sides, which could become a paradigm for future cooperation.
