Professor Qiu Weinian, the Associate dean of the School of Business and the director of Leadership Empowerment and Organization Development Research Center (LEO) was interviewed by Guangzhou Broadcasting Network. During the interview, professor Qiu expressed his professional thoughts about the clustered industrial development of Nansha, and building Nansha into an integrated service and trade center in the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Greater Bay. This is another step forward to serve the “Belt and Road” strategy and Guangzhou’s economic developmentsince the “Research on the Development Strategy of Guangzhou Free Trade Port” project, which is taken charge of by professor Qiu, was checked and approved in December, 2016.
As the only non-port project among the 4 PPP franchised projects, the Nansha business airport has a differentiated function from Baiyun International Airport, which is very important. Professor Qiu holds that, the Nansha business airport and the Baiyun International Airport have different orientations, so there is little synergy. Besides, the business airport can relieve the pressure on transportation without influencing the stable passenger flow and future development of Baiyun International Airport.
In terms of the advantages of the business airport, international cruise terminal, international cruise terminal complex and the automobile ro-ro terminal introducing social capital, professor Qiu thinks that the above-mentioned four projects, taking the supply-side reform’s features, are highly marketized and have great market space and value lowland. This kind of project can not only keep the advantage of national system, but also increase the dynamism of market, offering guarantee and return for the stable profit of social capital. Introducing social capital is conducive to realizing the amplifying function of capital, driving the breakthroughs of Nansha’s infrastructure construction, complying with the orientation of Nansha set by the central government and Guangdong provincial government. MProf Qiu emphasized that the four projects are all related to transportation, and will have strong geographical impact once completed. |
