From this January to May,  a selection for excellent website was held on the university level. A total  of 93 unit websites were divided into four categories, teaching departments, academic research division, party and  government organizations and teaching assistant  departments, directly affiliated departments  and others departments. On May 31th, the  result of the review was passed by the college party standing committee  based on the overall merit of the judges. The School of Business of Guangdong  University of Foreign Studies, the College of Continuing  Education Open College, Guangdong  Institute for International Strategies, Logistic  division and Guangwai Education Group were awarded the first prize  within their respective categories, another 10 unit websites the second prize  and 21 unit websites the third prize.

The selection activity was  divided into two stages. The first stage was self-evaluation and  self-improvement, covering from mid-January to late April this year.  Participants were required to build and improve their websites in accordance  with specific rules. The second stage was expert review in early May. Scores  were made based on two parts, judges appraisal and technical statistics,  which used technical means to assess update frequency, page view, exposure  and other indicators.
