On the afternoon of September7th, a congress in celebration of the 33rd Teachers’ Day and of commendation was held in Yunshan Hall.
   At the congress, SUI Guangjun, General Secretary andPresident of GDUFS, delivered a commendation speech. SUI Guangjun pointed outthat in the last academic year, with major strategic needs as the orientation,mechanism and system reform as the driving force, quality, uniqueness, highlevel and internationalization as the theme, GDUFS achieved steady developmentin talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, culturalinheritance, innovation, international cooperation and other aspects, gaining agood start for the 13th Five-Year Plan. All these embodied the sweat and wisdomof our faculty and staff. And then SUI Guangjun commended advanced teams andoutstanding individuals in various works from six perspectives. He emphasizedthat GDUFS is currently at an important stage and he hoped all the faculty andstaff can greet the university's 4th party congress with concrete actions, andstrive to create a new situation for the building of a high-level universitycharacterized by internationalization.

   SOB was elected as advanced team and Dean ZHU Wenzhongaccepted the award on behalf of SOB. 20 teams were elected as advanced teamwith 10 of them in teaching department. In the meantime, as a member of SOB,Ding Hao and LEI Xiaoqing were elected as outstanding teacher, PAN Wenchao as outstandingoversea teacher during the 2016-2017 academic year, Cheng Simin as advancedworker and Shang Dan as outstanding political counselor. Moreover, ZHU Wenzhongwas honored as outstanding graduate mentor during the 20016-2017 academic yearand his research Innovative Research on International Certification Drivingthe Cultivating Mode of International Business Managerial Talent was listedas one of the 2016 provincial education and teaching reform projects. HUANGLei, QIU Aimei, CHEN Weizhen, LIU Shumin and SHEN Zhonghua were elected asoutstanding undergraduate mentor during the 20016-2017 academic year. 11teachers in SOB won the 2016 Excellence Award in Teaching, among whom WANG Gangand Wang Weihong won the first prize, YANG Xiaoyan, YUAN Denghua, LIU Shilan,QIU Aimei the second prize and MA Feixiong, LIU Xiaoqin, LI Xiaohui, AN Fansuoand LI Nan the third prize. In addition, in the last academic year, teachers ofSOB had won various awards outside the university：WANG Hong won the outstanding proposal of the CPPCC awardin Guangdong Province; YAN Hong was rated as advanced woman party member ofZhigong Party; MA Feixiong instructed his students to win the third prize inthe “Zheng Ming Cup”——the 5thNational Contest On Logistics Design by University Students (NCOLD).
