From October 11 to October 20, under the leadership of Jiao Fang,vice dean of Guangdong university of Foreign Studies, Liang Jie, vice presidentof the School of Business, visited universities in Chile, Peru and the United States.
On October 13, in Chile, the delegation participated in the12th U6 BBS, hosted by the Chile St. Thomas University, and talked about the internationalization of multiple cultures and education. During the meeting,vice dean Liang Jie was actively engaged in interaction and communication with representatives from St. Thomas University, Taiwan Ling Tung University, Taiwan Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages and other universities and colleges. In the meeting, further cooperation intention was reached in cooperation research,undergraduate joint training and teacher exchange.
On October 16, the delegation visited the Peru Santa Maria Catholic University, and and attended the council meeting of the Confuciusinstitute of Santa Maria Catholic University. During the visit, the delegation received a warm welcome from the school leaders and deans of Santa Maria Catholic University and confirmed that the next step was to incorporate theschool into the research cooperation plan of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
On October 18, Liang Jie also visited the Queens College of the City University of New York. Elizabeth Hendrey, vice president and general provost of the Queens College, and William McClure, vice provost of the Queens College cordially met with the delegation. The two sides reviewed the cooperation and exchanges thathave been carried out by the two universities and discussed and reached a consensus on the development of 2 + 2 dual degree programs, co-organizedshort-term student visits programs and enhance of the teacher exchanges. After the meeting, Liang Jie had a friendly conversation with the students of the School of Business, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, studying at Queens College. In the evening, Liang Jie also met with more than 10 alumni at the New York alumni association and shared the friendship with them.
