The 21st Business Academic Forum: Anti-showroom Phenomenon and Clan Power

On December 24, the 21st Business Academic Forum was held as scheduled at Meeting Room 366 of the MBA Education Center. The forum invited professor HAN Xiaohua, Yunshan Outstanding Scholar, and doctor ZHU Wenjue from School of Economics and Trade, GDUFS.

Professor HAN Xiaohua shared her research on the theme of “Supply chain channel strategies for online retailers: Whether to introduce web showrooms?” The research was to explore whether it is useful for online retailers to introduce web showrooms as a channel strategy when facing consumers’ anti-showroom behavior. Doctor ZHU Wenjue from School of Economics and Trade, GDUFS, shared her research on the theme of “The King V.S. The Clan-How does clan power affect farmland institutional change in China”. To explore the implementation logic of induced institutional change, Doctor ZHU Wenjue took agricultural land consolidation in the implementation of the rural land-using rights confirmation policy as the case, and revealed the power carrier manifestation of clan power in farmer game through the analysis of farmer game.

The forum provided teachers and students diversified research perspectives, which are also a major objective of the Business Academic Forum. After the presentations, teachers and students had a profound academic discussion with the two speakers. Interdisciplinary and cross-domain academic communication is bound to provide brand new ideas for scholars to do in-depth academic research.
