“Join the Military to Dedicate Your Youth, Protect Your Family and Country without Regret” -- An Information Session for the Policy of University Students Joining the Army Held in SOB

In order to implement the national conscription policy, and further encourage and guide university students to enlist in the military, “Join the military to dedicate your youth, protect your family and country without regret” --a virtual information session for the policy of university students joining the army was held in School of Business on the evening of January 12. Attendees in this meeting include WEI Chuanwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, SHEN Changxia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and ZHU Yonghai, Chief of the National Defense Education Section of the Armed Forces Department. In addition, nearly 300 students attended the meeting with HUANG Guanfu, counselor of the School, as the host.

During the session, WEI Chuanwen delivered a speech for military recruitment. He pointed out that as an important force in building national defense and military, university students’ enlistment in the military was not only the urgent need to build a consolidated national defense and a strong army, but also the objective requirement to serve economic and social development and maintain the long-term stability of the country. ZHU Yonghai explained to the students the policy of our university’s recruitment work in spring of this year and encouraged them to actively sign up for the army. In the end, SHEN Changxia made a conclusion of the information session. She said that joining the army can benefit university students for their whole life, they should respond to the call of the new era and dedicate their youthful energy to their country and people.

This successful session made students understand the policy of enlistment in the military in detail, and realize that military service is an honorable duty of citizens, and is of great significance to personal growth, national development and national rejuvenation. This session greatly stimulated the students’ enthusiasm to serve their country.
