2021-03-12 15:00

On the afternoon of March 11, 2021, the faculty of SOB went to Yongqingfang for the Girls’ Day and the spring outing of the trade union. During the visit, the faculty looked for the memory of the old city, felt the charm of the intangible cultural heritage and pursued the origin of the culture.

The Cantonese Opera Art Museum is a Chinese garden-style museum with Lingnan style and the feature of the water town. Owing to the idea of “maintaining the old as the old”, Yongqingfang has effectively protected the old style of Xiguan City, and it has also introduced some young industries such as maker space and cultural creativity, which makes Yongqingfang become a scenic spot that preserves the memory of the city and integrates tradition with modernity. Through this event, the faculty of SOB have gained a better understanding of the history and culture of Guangzhou. Being aware of the importance of cultural transmission emphasized by General Secretary Xi, the faculty also become more realized of their historical mission as university teachers.
