On March 27th, SOB held the 9th “FTBY Cup” Alumni Badminton Tournament in the gym of the south campus. The Tournament was hosted by SOB, undertaken by the Alumni Association of SOB and co-organized by the Alumni Association of Yuexiu District, Alumni Affairs Center of SOB and the Badminton Team. The guests who attended the opening ceremony included: Deputy Secretary-General of GDUFS Alumni Association BI Jianyong, Party Secretary of SOB WEI Chuanwen, Deputy Party Secretary SHEN Changxia, the CEO of FTBY enterprise and Executive President of Alumni Association of SOB LIN Ming, etc.

Nearly 100 team members from the Alumni Association across the country and students and faculty of GDUFS formed 8 teams to compete in the Tournament. Finally, the Badminton Team from the Alumni Association of Tianhe District won the group championship. On the field we were rivals, but off the field we were friends. Upholding the principle of “Friendship first; Competition second”, alumni developed a close and harmonious friendship that was a far more valuable reward of the Tournament. Alumni Badminton Tournament of SOB has been held nine times in a row, which aims to provide a platform for all the alumni to establish friendship through badminton.
