On July 8, the general election meeting and the first plenary meeting of SOB Academic Committee of GDUFS was held on Tencent Meeting. The meeting was attended by ZHENG Lihua, Deputy Director of the eighth Academic Committee of GDUFS, ZHAO Xuzhe, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Office, ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, YUAN Denghua, Vice Dean of SOB, ZENG Chuhong, Vice Dean of SOB, and all of the teachers and counselors of SOB. It was presided over by LIU Fanglong.

On behalf of GDUFS, ZHENG Lihua pointed out that considering the development of SOB, the new Academic Committee members should be elected in strict accordance with the requirements. LIU Fanglong declared the list of candidates for the new Academic Committee, a total of nine candidates. After a round of plenary voting, the members of the new Academic Committee were successfully elected. Subsequently, the first meeting of the new Academic Committee was held. ZHU Wenzhong was elected Chairman of the new Academic Committee and ZENG Chuhong was elected Deputy Director of the Academic Committee. ZHU Wenzhong introduced and summarized the main work of the previous Academic Committee, and said that the new Academic Committee can carry forward the past and open up the future, striving to make more high-end achievements in the next five years, serving China’s major development strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics, so as to constantly expand the school’s reputation and influence at home and abroad, and strive to achieve the sustainable development of the discipline with high quality as the core.
