On the afternoon of July 12, 2021, the final summary meeting of the English Immersion Education Department of SOB was held both online and offline in Room No.349, Faculty Building, South Campus of GDUFS. ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, DING Hao, Vice Dean of SOB, and XU Yiqing, Vice Dean of SOB attended and spoke at the meeting. The meeting was also attended by HUANG Lei, Director of the English Immersion Education Department, teachers from the Department, students from two innovation classes, and administrative staff of the Academic Affairs Office. With English as its working language, the meeting was chaired by HUANG Lei.

In his speech, ZHU Wenzhong reviewed the development process and purpose of the establishment of the English Immersion Education Department. He indicated that founding the Department institutionally promoted the development of SOB's English immersion education. Meanwhile, he paid tribute to the achievements and prospects of innovation classes. DING Hao first spoke highly of the far-reaching influence of the English Teaching Department on the development of innovation classes. He said that SOB will continue to harness the uniqueness and advantages of innovation classes, strengthen the construction of the teaching team, and improve the overall quality of students. In doing so, the brand influence will be continuously enhanced. XU Yiqing congratulated the English Immersion Education Department for its fruitful results. She said that in the future, SOB will continue to introduce excellent teachers, increase foreign cooperation projects, and thus providing a better platform for international teaching. HUANG Lei concluded that the English Immersion Education Department is a typical team organization, which relies on the collaboration and mutual assistance at all levels of SOB. He said that in the years to come, more teachers will be encouraged to apply for English teaching qualifications, open English courses, optimize the teaching mode, and make more efforts to improve student satisfaction.

In the teacher-student symposium session, the representatives of the teachers from the English Immersion Education Department and students from innovation classes conducted active discussions on the curriculum and teaching methods. The final summary meeting of the English Immersion Education Department fully demonstrated the strong English teaching culture atmosphere of SOB, promoting the enhancement of the quality of undergraduate teaching.
