Student Service Team of SOB Conducted Party History Learning and Education Activities in the Practice of Bringing Three Voluntary Services to the Countryside or Rural Communities

From July 20 to 27, 2021, SOB joined hands with the Youth League Committee of Baini Town, Sanshui District, Foshan City and Foshan Newpearl Ceramics Group to carry out the summer social practice themed on "Leading the Youth to Follow the Party, Making Our Generation Stronger". As a response to Ministry of Education's efforts in attracting college students volunteers to engage in summer holiday daycare services and rural revitalization, the event is to encourage students to receive education, enhance abilities, and make contributions from social practices, and inspire them to learn Party history, reinforce faith, and follow the Party in observation and practice. Six teachers including SHEN Changxia, Deputy Party Secretary of SOB and 15 outstanding student cadres participated in the event.

The student service team of SOB increased the traditional culture courses in the curriculum, allowing students to fully appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese culture. During the lectures, the team members lively introduced relevant knowledge combining videos, picture books and funny quizzes, so that everyone could actively explore the excellent traditional culture and absorb cultural essence from it. The team members also set up emotional mini-lessons and Party history learning classes based on the situation. The service team taught students to be grateful through vivid teaching methods. During the Party history learning class, the team members told the children short stories, taught them songs and poems, and held a Party history knowledge contest, all featuring the history of revolution.

The service team conducted a special study on the impact of the backward economic, cultural, and educational progress in some local areas on the growth of left-behind children. The team discovered through field visits and face-to-face conversations that not only do the children lack parental companionship and care, but also targeted special programs, the cultivation of their abilities and potential for their age, and the education of patriotism.

The student service team's summer daycare volunteer service in the form of "volunteer teaching and research" combined field practice and observation with ideological awareness enhancement, and incorporated professional knowledge and personal experience, which achieved great results. The team members said they had a deeper understanding of the significance of rural revitalization and would do their best in the subsequent activities to cultivate their practical skills and contribute to the rural revitalization.
