On September 4, SOB held an online faculty and staff meeting for the new semester. The meeting was presided over by Party Secretary WEI Chuanwen, and attended by faculty and staff of SOB.

Firstly, WEI Chuanwen introduced the new faculty members and temporary cadres of the school and extended a warm welcome to them. Then, ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, briefed the work carried out by the school during the summer vacation, mentioned the remarkable results achieved in the last semester and expressed his gratitude to all the faculty members. He pointed out that during the summer vacation, the school made solid progress in party building, ideological and political education, as well as discipline development. He also emphasized that in the second half of 2021, SOB will further push forward its work with discipline development and talent training as the primary tasks and that all faculty and staff must be united to promote the school's high-quality development. Vice Deans ZENG Chuhong, DING Hao and XU Yiqing, and Deputy Party Secretary SHEN Changxia made additional speeches on discipline construction and research management, undergraduate teaching and international accreditation, MBA education and international exchange, and students' affairs, respectively.

In the disquisition on kicking off the education campaign of teachers' professional ethics, WEI Chuanwen guided the faculty and staff to study the Ten-Point Norm for the Professional Behavior of University Teachers in the New Era and the Code of Professional Ethics for Teachers in Higher Education. He stressed that the school should integrate the study of party history closely with the education of work ethics to ensure solid progress of the campaign. Lastly, WEI conveyed the university's requirements on epidemic prevention and control and the education of teachers' work ethics, and underlined that SOB must strictly implement the work of epidemic prevention and control.

At the meeting, SHEN Zhonghua, a faculty member, also shared his experience as an undergraduate supervisor.
