Setting Sail for the Future --- Opening Ceremony and Team-Building of MBA (Guangzhou Class 2021) of Hong Kong Baptist University

On September 2-3, 2021, the opening ceremony and team-building event of MBA Guangzhou Class 2021 of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) was held in Guangzhou. ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, GDUFS,HUANG Xu, Associate Dean of School of Business Administration and Director of MBA Program of HKBU, YUAN Denghua and DING Hao, Vice Deans of SOB, HE Chengxiao, Professor of Professional Applications, Department of Management, School of Business and Management, HKBU, students of the Guangzhou class 2021 of HKBU and a number of alumni attended the event.

On the evening of September 2, Huang Xu delivered a welcome speech and a keynote address, and introduced the project. He underlined that the MBA Guangzhou class of HKBU consistently focuses on cultivating the three core competencies of students and encourages them to continuously upgrade their mindset and vision. Later, ZHU Wenzhong congratulated and welcomed the new students of the Guangzhou class. He introduced the history, disciplinary strengths and fruitful achievements of GDUFS and SOB in recent years. Meanwhile, he pointed out that GDUFS and HKBU can complement each other's strengths in education, which is in line with the national strategy of "building the Greater Bay Area" and the need for talent training.

FAN Jiaqi, Executive Chairman of MBA (China) Alumni, XIAO Yingdan, Executive Vice Chairman of MBA (China) Alumni Association, and LIU Hao, a student of MBA Guangzhou Class 2019, introduced the considerable resources, opportunities for career cooperation and prospects of the MBA alumni platform of HKBU to the new students. They also shared their experiences of striking the balance between work, study and life, and sent their best wishes to the freshmen.

In order to develop a closer bond between students, the class held a team-building event for them on September 3. A project named "Dream Home" was a wonderful ending to the event, presenting the students' hard work throughout the day. In this event, students experienced the entire process of operation and risk management and learned the essence of teamwork and joint contribution.
