In order to further strengthen the teachers ethics, guide the faculty and staff to firmly believe in their ideals, and adhere to the original aspiration of fostering virtue through education and nurturing talents for the Party and the country, SOB held a special lecture in the octagon building of the south campus on October 9. The lecture invited Professor LI Tieli, a member of the school's teacher ethics lecture group, the first teacher ethics model, and an excellent teacher of Guangdong Province, to be the main lecturer. All staff of SOB attended the lecture. SHEN Changxia, Deputy Party Secretary OF SOB presided over the lecture.

Professor LI elaborated the connotation of teacher ethics and explained the discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the development of teacher ethics and the implication of the Ten-Point Norm for the Professional Behavior of University Teachers in the New Era. He called on all faculty members to teach by example, and strive to be a guide for students. He also suggested that teachers should guide students to develop the right ideals and beliefs, as well as the way of thinking, and incorporate their patriotism and aspiration to serve the nation into the great cause of reform and the people's great struggle to create history. Afterwards, Shen Changxia summed up the lecture and put forward relevant requirements for the thematic activities on the building of teachers' ethics.

The lecture further deepened the school's faculty and staff's awareness of the importance of teacher ethics, and reinforced their original aspiration of fostering virtue through education and nurturing talents for the Party and the country as well as the resolve to cultivate socialist builders and successors who are fully developed in morals, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor education.
