From January 10 to January 14, 2022, SOB launched the second phase of the “Ten-thousand Talents Plan”: TThe Training Camp of Experiencing the Culture of Cantonese Merchants and Conducting Innovative Practice (hereinafter referred to as the Training Camp), invited well-known professors to give lectures on the theme of the culture of Cantonese merchants. It attracted nearly 70 students from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to sign up, and completed successfully.

On the morning of January 10, the opening ceremony of the Training Camp was held, which was presided over by XU Yiqing, Vice Dean of GDUFS. Prof. ZHU Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, and Associate Professor HUANG Lei, Representative of the faculty, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. During the 5-day camp, GDUFS actively responded to the call for pandemic prevention and control, and invited ten experts to carry out relevant courses, discussions and practices online. On January 14, the Training Camp was officially completed. LU Lu, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of GDUFS, Associate Professor, DING Hao, Deputy Dean of SOB, attended the graduation meeting and delivered speeches. HUANG Zhuojun, a student of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, spoke on behalf of the students.

This activity has provided an academic platform for GDUFS to carry out educational exchanges with Hong Kong and Macao, embodied the efforts and contributions made by GDUFS to promote and inherit the culture of Cantonese merchants, facilitated the interconnection of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and helped the culture of Cantonese merchants grow prosperous.
