On October 28, 2023, the final of the 3rd edition of the 929 Challenge, a competition for university students from China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (hereinafter referred to as the “929 Challenge”), jointly organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao), City University of Macau, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Saint Joseph University, Institute for Tourism Studies, United Nations University Institute in Macao, Shenzhen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, and supported by the Macao Economic and Technological Development Bureau, was held at the Commercial and Trade Cooperation Service Platform Complex for China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries in Macao. The 929 Challenge involved participation from innovation and entrepreneurship teams from nine cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), two Special Administrative Regions, and nine Portuguese-speaking countries.
Our team competed with over 270 teams from China and Portuguese-speaking countries. After multiple rounds of competition, it finally entered the final as one of the 8 university teams and won the “Best Sustainable Business Model Award.” This award marks a significant breakthrough for our MBA students in international competitions. They practiced the SMILE values on the international competition and the GBA stage, showcasing the distinctive spirit of youth. It is also an affirmation and encouragement for GDUFS’s MBA program, which takes “cultivating international high-quality management talents who integrate Chinese and Western cultures” as its mission and “building a leading and world-influential international high-quality MBA program in China” as its vision.
