Delegation from Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Administration Committee Visits GDUFS

On the afternoon of May 22, REN Shubing, Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Administration Committee, CHEN Wei, Chairperson and President of the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Chamber of Commerce and Head of Pioneer Valley Talent Exchange Promotion Center in Panyu district of Guangzhou, and SU Ning, Assistant Director and Operations Director of the Guangzhou Innovation Center of A New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (AITISA), visited School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for a discussion session. They were joined by LIU Fanglong, Associate Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, CAO Tingting, Head of the Teaching and Research Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, representatives of registered enterprises incubated in the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Practice Base, as well as relevant faculty members.

During the meeting, LIU Fanglong warmly welcomed REN Shubing and his delegation, and gave a brief introduction of the registered enterprises attending the session. REN encouraged the student entrepreneur representatives to gain a thorough understanding of and make effective use of local support policies, and gave a brief overview of relevant talent policies in Panyu district. CHEN Wei introduced to the participating entrepreneurship teams several policies, including the “30 Measures on Talent Ecosystem for High-quality Development in Panyu district,” the “Youth Talents International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,” and the Talent Service Card. Drawing on his own experience as a serial entrepreneur, he encouraged students to fully leverage their resource advantages to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship practices. SU Ning gave a brief introduction to the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held in the Higher Education Mega Center and provided guidance on achieving commercialization and application of outcomes for university student start-ups.

In the exchange session, representatives of the student entrepreneurship teams engaged in lively discussions with the visiting officials and experts on topics such as support policies for startups in Panyu district and resource matching for entrepreneurial projects. The research and discussion session further strengthened the connection among GDUFS’s entrepreneurial teams, the local government, and innovation and entrepreneurship mentors.
