The 2017 European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)Conference was held in Berlin, Germany from June 7 to 9, 2017. Liang Jie, associate dean and Doctor Shen Zhonghua from School of Business attended the conference. The theme for this conference is “Trend, Technology and Transformation”. During the conference, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from countries like Britain, Germany, France, Spanish reported on the topic of “What Does the Industrial Transformation Mean to Business Schools”, and meanwhile delivered speeches and exchanged thoughts on such topics as “Looking at the Vision of Civilization in the New Autocratic Era from the Perspective of Business Risk” and “Exploring the Global Trend and Impact of the Digital Transformation of Higher Education”. 540 elite members attended the conference, which builds up the platform forcommunication and exchange between the academic circle and business circle.
During the conference, Liang Jie and Shen Zhonghua exchanged opinions with Eric Cornuel, the CEO of EFMD and Japhet Law, the accredited senior counselor of EPAS Asia-Pacific. At the same time, they had a detailed discussion with Jens Petter Tøndel, the deputy director of EFMD Quality Service Center in terms of the EPAS accreditation data we have submitted. Jens appraised the first draft of the EPAS accreditation data of the undergraduate program that we have submitted, and also gave us some precious advice on further optimizing the data content and making our school more internationalized. Our school acquired the EFMD membership in 2016. The revision and submission of the EPAS accreditation data is an important step to promote the accreditation work.
In addition, Liang Jie talked with the deans of several overseas business schools such as Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, Saint-Petersburg State University, Russia and ESMT, Berlin, on the possibility of future cooperation. Liang also shared her international cooperation and accreditation experience with representatives from Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University and other universities at home. EFMD has more than 500 institutional members and reaches over 12,000management development professionalsfrom different fields across 65 countries worldwide.
