From May 14 to 17, 2023, the AMBA & BGA 2023 Global Conference was held in Seville, Spain. More than 400 delegates from over 100 business schools around the world attended the conference. There were 14 main sessions and 12 parallel sessions. Participants discussed and shared on business education-related topics such as AI and ChatGPT, sustainable development and climate change, market best practices, innovation and entrepreneurship. DING Hao, Vice Dean of SoB, attended the conference. Andrew Main Wilson, CEO of AMBA & BGA, and Professor Steef Van de Velde of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University presented the joint accreditation of AMBA & BGA to SoB, GDUFS. Professor WANG Chongming, member of AMBA & BGA International Advisory Board and General Advisor of China, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts of Zhejiang University and Director of Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University, presented SoB the Golden Award of Global Business Excellence Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Initiative.

On behalf SoB, DING Hao received the AMBA&BGA Joint Accreditation and the Gold Award of Global Business Excellence Award

At the parallel session hosted by Professor WANG Chongming and George Iliev, head of AMBA & BGA Accreditation in China, DING Hao was invited to give a keynote speech to introduce SoB’s principle of “Global Vision and Chinese Way of Business” and the role of SMILE values in promoting the cultivation of international high-quality talents.

During the session, DING Hao communicated with the chairman, CEO and accreditation experts of AMBA & BGA to familiarize himself with the latest accreditation standards of AMBA & BGA which provides an important reference for the overall development of MBA program and even SoB. During the session, DING Hao talked with representatives of business schools in and beyond China to promote the characteristics and strengths of SoB, GDUFS, while seeking cooperation opportunities, so as to enhance the SoB’s influence in and beyond China.

Adhering to the development path of “relying on accreditation, promoting construction by evaluation, and promoting connotative development and continuous improvement with international characteristics”, SoB of GDUFS obtained AMBA international accreditation for the first time in 2015 and was continuously accredited in the following years. In 2020, SoB of GDUFS gained EPAS international accreditation for the first time, and regained the accreditation in 2023 when the new requirements became stricter. In 2021, SoB successfully passed the BGA gold accreditation as a pilot unit. In 2022, SoB was awarded the Gold Award for Best Corporate Social responsibility and Sustainable Development in the AMBA & BGA Global Business Excellence Award, becoming the first Chinese university to receive this honor. SoB will continue to adhere to the motto of “Pursuit of Integrity, Practice and Cross-cultural Learning”, adhere to the school philosophy of “Global Vision and Chinese Way of Business”, take “training international high-end business talents” as its mission, strive for the vision of “becoming a high-level business school with international characteristics”, put SMILE values into actions, and constantly enhance its international reputation and influence.
