International Accreditation Seminar for Business Schools in Guangdong Province Held at GDUFS

On the afternoon of October 19, 2018, the International Accreditation Seminar for Business Schools in Guangdong Province was successfully held in the International Conference Hall of GDUFS. The seminar was sponsored by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and organized by GDUFS SoB. Over 30 representatives from ten institutions, including Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, South China Normal University, Shenzhen University, Shantou University, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangdong University of Finance & Economics, Guangzhou University, and Guangzhou College of Commerce, attended. The meeting was presided over by Professor WANG Zhongming, AMBA’s China Regional Head and a senior professor at Zhejiang University’s School of Management.

AMBA CEO Andrew Main Wilson introduced the overall development, historical evolution, and related details of the BGA accreditation within the AMBA organization. Professor WANG Zhongming added an introduction about the features of BGA accreditation, the pilot plan, operational procedures, and membership resources. In the Q&A and discussion session, the participants engaged in lively Q&A and discussion on issues such as the relationship between BGA and AMBA accreditations, the scope and criteria of accreditation, and the requirements of accreditation for school development. Professor XU Erming, Dean of School of Business at Shantou University; Professor CHEN Weiqi, Associate Dean of Guangzhou University School of Business Administration; Professor TAN Ying, Associate Dean of College of Economics and Management at South China Agricultural University; Dr. LING Zishan, Director of Jinan University MBA/EMBA Center; Professor ZHANG Zhongfu, Vice President of Guangzhou College of Commerce; and Ms. LI Aijun (representative of College of Management, Shenzhen University) each introduced the development status of their respective schools.
