On the morning of June 25, 2018, Professor LI Xinchun from the School of Management, Sun Yat-sen University, visited SoB to guide the self-assessment phase of the CAMEA accreditation. Attendees included SoB Dean ZHU Wenzhong, Chairperson LI Hua, Associate Deans YUAN Denghua, QIU Weinian, and DING Hao, Deputy Chairperson LUO Haiyang, Office Director XU Yiqing, MBA Center Director WANG Gang, and Accreditation Office Supervisor LIANG Yan. The meeting was held in Conference Room 360 of Faculty Office Building at the University Town Campus and was presided over by Associate Dean DING Hao.
Professor LI Xinchun congratulated SoB on the rapid development and distinctive internationalization achievements in recent years in areas such as disciplines, faculty, teaching, and research, and he highly endorsed SoB’s accreditation efforts. Professor Li then provided targeted and precise guidance tailored to SoB’s situation and the CAMEA accreditation standards. He pointed out that the purpose of CAMEA accreditation is to promote the high-quality development and continuous improvement of MBA education in China. Compared with international accreditations such as AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, CAMEA places more emphasis on alignment with China’s national context and highlights innovation and distinctiveness. SoB should reinforce a closed-loop mindset for quality assurance, and ensure that curriculum design, faculty, and research support SoB’s positioning and distinctive features, and then concretely implement these aspects into the classroom, student experience, alumni relations, etc. Professor Li provided a detailed interpretation focusing on the five standards of the CAMEA self-assessment report. His guidance work demonstrated a high level of expert insight while closely aligning with SoB’s characteristics and actual conditions, earning high praise from the participants.
