High-Level Talent Positions of Yunshan Scholars at School of Business

III. Recruitment requirements, terms of appointment, and benefits

(I) Yunshan Leading Scholars

1. Requirements

(1) Full professorship and PhD supervisor; initial appointment age generally 62 and below.

(2) Possess innovative and strategic thinking, with the ability to lead the discipline to catch up with or maintain an international advanced level; enjoy broad academic recognition both domestically and internationally; capable of cultivating outstanding innovative talents; experienced in leading national or international major research projects and publishing top-level academic achievements in the field; with outstanding academic accomplishments in the past five years.

(3) Recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars; Distinguished Professors of the Changjiang Scholars Program; talents of the “Thousand Talents Plan”; outstanding and leading talents of the “Ten Thousand Talents Program”; or scholars of equivalent level and achievement.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 4 years.

3. Benefits

(1) Employment category: Staffing of government-affiliated institutions

(2) Annual salary: Starting from RMB 1.2 million per year.

(3) Housing allowance: Starting from RMB 2 million.

(4) Research start-up funds: Starting from RMB 500,000.

(5) Work support: Team members provided as needed.

For urgently needed or exceptionally outstanding talents, customized packages will be negotiated.

(II) Yunshan Distinguished Scholars (Category A & B)

1. Requirements

(1) Hold a doctoral degree and a Full Professor title; generally at least four years away from statutory retirement age; serves as PhD supervisor or leader of a key discipline at or above provincial level.

(2) Category A: Typically experts selected for the national-level young talent program, or scholars with equivalent academic attainment and influence; Category B: Typically experts selected for the provincial-level leading talent program, or scholars with equivalent academic attainment and influence.

(3) Applicants meeting any of the following within the past five years are eligible:

1) Principal investigator of a national-level research project (excluding youth projects), without withdrawal or suspension.

2) Publish at least 8 papers in authoritative journals in the discipline, classified as Category II or above in China, including at least 2 papers in Category I journals (cannot be counted proportionally). For domestic or mainland-based scholars, at least 3 of these papers must be published in Chinese-language journals in China.

(4) Applicants meeting direct recruitment conditions may be appointed directly.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 4 years.

3. Benefits

(1) Employment category: Staffing of government-affiliated institutions

(2) Annual salary: Category A, starting from RMB 800,000 per year; Category B, starting from RMB 500,000 per year.

(3) Housing allowance: Starting from RMB 1.5 million.

(4) Research start-up funds: Starting from RMB 500,000.

(5) Work support: For principal investigators of national-level major projects, team members will be provided as needed.

For urgently needed or exceptionally outstanding talents, customized packages will be negotiated.

(III) Young Scholars of Yunshan

1. Requirements

(1) Doctoral degree; applicants with an associate professorship or above must be under 40 years old; other applicants must be under 35.

(2) Provincial-level young talent program experts, or scholars with equivalent academic attainment and influence.

(3) Applicants meeting any of the following within the past five years are eligible:

1) Principal investigator of a national-level project, or two provincial/ministerial-level projects (including at least one ministerial-level), without withdrawal or suspension.

2) Published more than six papers in recognized authoritative journals in the field, including at least one in a top-tier journal. For domestic scholars, at least two of these must be published in Chinese-language journals.

(4) Applicants meeting direct recruitment conditions may be appointed directly.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 4 years.

3. Benefits

(1) Employment category: Staffing of government-affiliated institutions

(2) Annual salary: Starting from RMB 350,000 per year.

(3) Housing allowance: Starting from RMB 300,000.

(4) Research start-up funds: Starting from RMB 100,000.

(5) Work support: For principal investigators of national-level major projects, team members will be provided as needed.

For urgently needed or exceptionally outstanding talents, customized packages will be negotiated.

(IV) Team members of “Leading Scholars” or “Major Project Leaders”

1. Requirements

(1) Designed mainly for academic backbones (e.g., principal investigators of national-level major projects, Yunshan Leading Scholars, and other urgently needed scholars for institutional development).

(2) Doctoral degree; under 40 years old.

(3) At least two academic papers published in mainstream international or domestic journals; working papers may also be provided to demonstrate research ability.

(4) Research areas: E-commerce and business intelligence, business data analysis, evaluation theory and methods, supply chain management, e-commerce platforms and operations, e-commerce and digital social media marketing, big data analysis, multimodal analysis (text, audio and video), machine learning and AI applications.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 1–4 years.

3. Benefits

(1) Annual salary: Starting from RMB 250,000 per year.

(2) Transitional housing on campus (rent according to university regulations) or housing subsidy of RMB 3,000 per month.

(V) Yunshan Senior Professors

1. Requirements

(1) Full professorship and already retired.

(2) Generally under 67 years old, in good health, and able to perform the required duties.

(3) Selected for the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, world-renowned think tank experts, industry leaders, authoritative scholars in the field with exceptional academic contributions both domestically and internationally, outstanding results or significant influence, and other individuals approved by the university president’s office meeting.

(4) Applicants must work full-time on campus.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 1–3 years.

3. Benefits

(1) Annual salary: Starting from RMB 200,000 per year.

(2) Transitional housing on campus or housing subsidy of RMB 4,000 per month.

(VI) Yunshan Visiting Professors

1. Requirements

(1) Doctoral degree, full professorship, PhD supervisor, and considerable influence in the discipline.

(2) Overseas applicants should generally hold a professorship or above at a high-level overseas university or equivalent position.

(3) Selected for the National Special Support Program for High-level Talents, world-renowned think tank experts, industry leaders, authoritative scholars in the field with exceptional academic contributions both domestically and internationally, outstanding results or significant influence, and other individuals approved by the university president’s office meeting.

2. Term of appointment

Generally 1–3 years.

3. Benefits

Monthly salary system, starting from RMB 30,000 per month.

In addition to the above personalized benefits, the university also provides the following for Yunshan Scholars:

(1) Performance-based incentives: Eligible for research, teaching, and year-end performance bonuses.

(2) Children’s education: Eligible to apply for admission to GDUFS kindergarten and affiliated primary and secondary schools.

(3) Postgraduate student quotas: Priority allocation of postgraduate student admission quotas.

(4) Living benefits: Eligible for housing subsidies (or temporary housing), social insurance, housing provident fund, medical care, and other welfare benefits.

(5) Academic team and talent support: Support for establishing academic teams; recommendation for national and Guangdong provincial talent programs. Eligible for the Guangdong Superior Talent Card, which enables “one-stop” access to 14 public services including household registration, children’s schooling, and social insurance, as well as priority in services related to entry-exit travel, medical care, transportation, loans, and children’s education.
